It’s been a while since I posted anything on my blog, I’ve been really busy and life has just got in the way. For today’s post I thought I would talk about what I got for my 21st birthday, specifically the new make up my parents gifted me!

Some of these products are just minis that were free alongside the bigger products but I’m so happy with everything I received.

Foundation is something I’ve always struggled wearing, I just find it too heavy. I’ve tried multiple brands and still at the end of a night out I want to claw it off. That is until I tried the Estée Lauder double wear light. Everyone knows that double wear is fantastic but to have a light option has been amazing. This provides me with a really good amount of coverage and has SPF 10. This is light enough that I will happily wear it all day and night. I absolutely love this and don’t think I’ll ever purchase another foundation.

Alongside the foundation was a moisturiser and a primer, I haven’t really used either properly but the moisturiser smells so good!

The rest of the make up I received are all Clinique products.

I’ll start off with the 3 skin care products. The first one is the Dramatically different moisturising lotion. I use this as a primer and it works so well. It does have a slightly strange smell but I associate that with my childhood as it’s something my Mum has worn daily.

There was also a Clinique facial soap and a take off the day make up remover. Both of which I have really enjoyed using. The combination of these products have really helped to keep my skin clear!

The other main present was the stay matte sheer pressed powder, this is a new favourite, it’s light, isn’t ‘cakey’ and has no flashback in photos.

Continuing with base products, there were two products that I was a bit unsure of. This was the chubby sticks, a cream blusher and a cream highlighter. I have never used cream products however, I absolutely love the highlighter. It leaves such a subtle glow and you can easily build it up.

Moving on to lip products, I received a lip stick and a lip gloss. My Dad picked out the shade of the lip gloss and he really surprised me. This is in the shade tender heart and is a really lovely pink nude colour. I haven’t worn a gloss product in years and have heavily stuck to a matte lip but this has been a nice change.

The lipstick isn’t a shade I would wear everyday but does work for some occasions. I tend to stick with purples and reds and this Clinique lipstick is in a bright pink shade called Punch Pop.

The last two products in the make up bag were a liquid eyeliner pen and a mascara. For the eyeliner I do have to use primer to keep it in place but I find that with most liquid pens. I really love the mascara, it lengthens my lashes but keeps them evenly spread instead of clumping them together. The only issue I have with this is it will not come off with anything other than the Clinique take the day off make up remover.

I have been absolutely loving my new make up and I think I finally have a make up bag full of products that work really well for my skin. Have you tried any of these products? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Hope you had an amazing 21st birthday! 🙂 Looks like you were treated very well with your presents! That Estee Lauder foundation sounds like it’s so good from what you’ve said – would love to try it out. I’ve never tried chubby sticks before, I’ve always been a bit unsure of them too so was nice to read what you thought of the highlighter 🙂

  2. I hope you had a wonderful birthday, it looks like you got a lot of goodies! I haven’t ever tried anything from either of these brands, but i will defenitly have to splurge and try a few of these products out! great post thanks for sharing xxx

  3. I hope you had a great birthday! The clinique makeup remover is my absolute favourite but it’s so expensive! I always save the minis you get free with other products for when I’m wearing something stubborn. I’ve used the mini of that mascara too and really liked it but when I bought the full sized one it didn’t seem as good for some reason? Maybe that’s just me 😂

  4. I’m struggling with the exact same issue with foundations! They’re either too heavy, too cakey, too little coverage, or too much. It’s so hard to find one that fits my skin type. I will definitely do some research on the Estée Lauder double wear foundation. I also think that your lip products were very cute! I love the shades ❤
