In 2018 I set myself 18 goals for the year. Slightly over ambitious, not all were big life goals some were smaller and simpler but I didn’t complete them all.

I did manage to tick off:

  • Join a society at uni.
  • Get a new tattoo.
  • Get better at eyeshadow.
  • Visit a new place.
  • Get back to the gym.
  • Put myself out my comfort zone.
  • Get a new job.

For 2019, I want to set smaller goals and if I complete I’ll then set some more. So here they are:

1. Save money

It’s time to start being an adult and thinking about the future. Mortgages, cars, holidays. I have a really big holiday coming up this year which I need to save for. I also have big travel plans for finishing uni and if I don’t start saving now I am never going to achieve them.

2. Pass the second year of university.

This was a goal I had last year and it didn’t happen, which was probably the best thing for me as I got to move to a new university and onto a course that I love. However, now that I am on a course I love I want to put in more effort and pass the year without worrying.

3. Go on holiday.

I have been with Nick for 5 years. We live together but have never been on holiday alone together. This will be changing in May as for my Christmas we have booked to visit Iceland! I cannot tell you how excited I am for this holiday I’m already planning away.

4. Read two books a month.

Reading is one of my favourite things and I really don’t set enough time aside for it so I am making an effort this year to read. Even a chapter a night before bed should see me hit this goal. For this month I have already hit this goal which I am super happy about.

5. Start a YouTube channel

This has been something I have wanted to do for a while. Now we have a camera and some exciting trips planned for the year I am hoping to create some amazing content.

  1. Saving is a big one for me too this year as I’m awful with money! I really love that you want to get a new job too; that’s also on my list x

  2. Love these goals, especially the reading one. I love to read too but somoften feel guilty if I spend time doing it. It’s nice to have the reminder that setting aside time for things you love is important.💛

  3. Hi love this post, this year sounds like it’s going to be a good one for you.

  4. Looks like you had a very successful 2018, achieving some great things. You have great goals for 2019! I have always wanted to start YouTube, but far too self conscious for that 😂🙈 I would subscribe to you, so let me know when you take the plunge! 2 books a month sounds great! I need to read more this year for sure! Thank you for sharing ❤️xx

  5. Those are some great goals – I feel like setting smaller goals that are more achievable helps you stick to them, rather than the bigger ones that can feel like such a fail when it doesn’t go your way. How exciting that you’re going to Iceland!!! I went to Reykjavik last summer and it was amazing. I hope you have a great time when it comes around ☺️
