Last year I set goals at the beginning of the year and then when I realised life had got in the way I set some new ones towards the end of year. When I set the news ones, I did it without really taking into consideration just how busy I would be. I was totally over-ambitious for someone that has two jobs and goes to uni.

That being said I think the goals I’m setting now are realistic and will happen this year. So let’s get into my main 5 goals of 2020.

1. Visit 3 New Places.

Last year I totally got the bug to travel anywhere and everywhere. I’m going to do a post about everywhere I went in 2019. The majority of these were in Scotland but there is nothing wrong with seeing more of your own country. Especially when Scotland has such vast landscapes.

We already have a couple of weekends away booked for the start of the year and are now currently planning our big holiday this year.  I’m hoping we tick off three new cities on one holiday.

2. Start a YouTube Channel

This was a goal last year and I just never had the confidence to start. When I did find the confidence I didn’t have the time. This month I’ve been having fun editing little videos for IGTV so I’m going to branch out and launch my YouTube channel.

I now have the time, I have a camera, I have the content ideas, I just need to actually sit down and start. The first video is always awkward no matter who you are, so I need to just bite the bullet and do it. If you want to subscribe you can here.

3. Blog Consistently

This year I’m going to try and blog consistently. I’m not yet setting specific days each week or guaranteeing that I’ll have multiple posts out per week. I’m currently just aiming to have at least one new post a week.

Consistency is key for growing and I want my blog to grow, I worked with some really exciting brands in 2019 and I’m hoping to do the same in 2020. I also just love blogging, it’s my creative outlet from life and I want to prioritise it.

I’ve taken some time over Christmas to prepare some posts for the next month so that I’m off to a good start with this goal.

4. Read 2 Books a Month

Last year I got back into reading but it started to fall away from me again when I went back to uni. I had wanted to read 2 books a book a month which didn’t happen. I did manage 12 books last year but it wasn’t one a month. I read nothing some months and 3 books in a week, there was no consistency to it.  This year I do want to hit 2 books a month. I’ve already read one so we’re off to a good start…

5. Get out of Debt.

This is probably the biggest goal I have for 2020. I’ve got a fair bit of debt that doesn’t include my student loans, I’m not going to go into the specifics of it now, I’ll probably do a more in-depth post about it. However, I’m not ashamed or annoyed about having debt. Most people have debt but my goal is to leave 2020 debt-free.

What are your goals for the year? Do you set any? Let me know in the comments!

  1. These are some great goals! My one main thing to stick to this year is “don’t think about it just do it” and that’s for everything. Whether that’s booking a holiday or going out etc 😊 I really hope you achieve your goals! Also I say go for it with YouTube 😊 xx
