This week I thought I would begin talking about one of my biggest interests – sneakers. For the last 3 years, I have been collecting sneakers. This is an interest I share with Nick and one that he sort of kick-started. Honestly, I’m surprised the interest didn’t happen sooner because as far back as I can remember I have always preferred dressing ‘comfy’ to dressing up. I remember constant battles with my Mum over wanting to be in skinny jeans instead of dresses, no matter what the occasion. As I have grown older I do now enjoy wearing dresses and being girly but I’ve started incorporating sneakers into these outfits.

The shoes I’m going to be talking about in this post are the Air Max 1 SD, this lovely pair were gifted to me on Valentine’s Day and they are the perfect colour for going into Spring and Summer. The shoe is in a pale pink suede material with a white & gum sole.

Air Max 1’s are one of my favourite Nike silhouettes. The first pair of sneakers I chose for my collection was from the Air Max Aloha pack. They are just so comfy and versatile, I manage to wear mine throughout the year.  I do normally wear them with jeans as Scotland is always freezing but in this post, I wanted to show how I include them in a more ‘night out’ outfit.

This look can go so wrong at times but I do think air max is the perfect silhouette to wear with a dress or skirt. In this post, I’ve paired my air max with a bodysuit, a skirt and a pink faux fur coat.

Personally, I love this look and I am so excited for warmer weather to ditch the fur coat (and not have blue legs). I can just tell this outfit will be one of my go to throughout summer as I can pair it with most shoes.

Obviously not every dress is going to match a pair of sneakers. This outfit is still leaning more towards the casual side but I did want to show that it can look good. I think people forget the actual cost of sneakers. There are collaborations that are so exclusive they can sell for £50,000. Thankfully, I am lucky enough to fit in kids sizes but not every pair that I would like releases in a kids size. (I do tend to miss out on quite a few collaborations) For me sneakers are probably the biggest part of my outfit, I plan what I’m wearing around my shoes. I also really look after them with protection sprays and cleaning kits. So I don’t see why they can’t be styled ‘up’ for nights out.
